Bishop's Crosses to Yurke and Vandenberg

January 7, 2013

At a dinner held January 4 at the University Club, Bishop Sisk gave the two Vice Chancellors of the diocese, Alice Yurke and Ray Vandenberg, quite a surprise when he awarded each of them the Bishop's Cross.

The Citations follow.

Alice Yurke receives Bishop's Cross from Bishop Sisk

ALICE YURKE, ESQ.

The opportunity to work with a true professional is always a pleasure.  It is a special joy to work with one who offers that expertise in the service of Christ and His Church.  Over the years that Alice Yurke has served as Vice-Chancellor of the Diocese of New York she has offered invaluable advice on numerous difficult questions that have come before us for consideration.  More than that she has been willing, when appropriate, to engage directly with congregations who were experiencing challenges within her area of expertise.  For her years of faithful service to the Church, her parish, and to this Diocese, it is my distinct pleasure to award her, on this the 4th day of January, 2013, in the Fifteenth year of our consecration,

THE BISHOP’S CROSS
