Empowering Women in the Developing World

“Sometimes the ripples move out from an empowered life of an educated woman in a way far too significant to measure easily.  The empowerment of one woman can be the pivotal point on which generations may turn.”
The Rt. Rev. Catherine S. Roskam, Bishop Suffragan (Retired), Episcopal Diocese of New York

The Global Women’s Fund was founded in 2004 by Bishop Roskam in response to Millennium Development Goal #3 “TO  PROMOTE GENDER EQUALITY AND EMPOWER WOMEN”.  As of March 2014, 24 women in 11 countries in the developing world have been granted scholarships for bachelors, masters, mdivs, and medical school.  300 women have attended 7 educational seminars held in 4 countries.

An educated woman’s life is changed as well as her family’s, and her community.
