Campus and Young Adult Ministry

CAMPUS MINISTRY VISION STATEMENT

Campus Ministry in the Diocese of New York supports the Episcopal Church presence in institutions of higher learning, providing undergraduates and others with a caring fellowship in which students worship and explore faith, vocation and service in the academy and beyond.

Campus ministry is a call to be present with and for our brothers and sisters in college and university communities, as we invite students, faculty and others to grow with us in faith, to love and seek God (with our minds, as well as hearts, souls and strength), to seek out and foster healthy relationships, and to encourage positive self images.  This is a time in the lives of students for asking soul-searching questions about life, their world and themselves.  As students embrace new explorations and freedoms in their intellectual and social development, the Church is called to walk with them in faith.

Through our campus ministries, we invite students, faculty and others to grow with us in faith, to love and seek God (with minds as well as hearts, souls and strength), to seek out and foster healthy relationships, and to develop positive self images. We offer them the chance to explore and embrace the possibilities of lay and ordained participation in ministry as a pattern of Christian life and service.
