Jodi Dean is a political theorist at Hobart and William Smith Colleges and Director of the Colleges’ Fisher Center for the Study of Gender and Justice. Author of nine books, she has given invited lectures in universities and cultural centers all over the world. Her talk will address how climate change is affecting the status of women globally and how their higher education can offer hope. Her latest book, Comrade: An Essay on Political Belonging, which explores revolutionary relationship in politics, will be released in early October.
Professor Dean is serving as distinguished guest speaker in support of the Global Women’s Fund’s mission to educate Anglican women in developing nations. The Fund provides full scholarships for higher education in diverse fields and funding for educational seminars that reach thousands.
