The Rev’d. Cn. John F. Rice, D. Min, Priest-in-Residence for October, believes the best chances and choices give us the opportunities to experience the grace and love of our creator God. As our world’s population moves upward to eleven billion and basic resources are stretched even thinner, what further roles might religion play in helping fashion better responses? As old models strain under the pressures of emerging futures, can institutional religions further rise to meet the challenges presented by these pressures? In we do things differently, futurist Mark Stevenson suggests that “….the problem is the solution…. that inequalities can be bridged …. [that you can] find answers in the worst served.” This sounds remarkably like the approach of Jesus of Nazareth in his day.
