First Steps Grant Application Deadline

First Steps Grants First Steps Grants are small grants of up to $2,500 each that are awarded to Episcopal churches in the diocese. The sole purpose of First Steps Grants is to grow the Episcopal Diocese of New York by creating stronger and healthier parishes. In New Rochelle When Ian Manuel was 13 years old, he  was directed by some older juvenile boys to participate in an armed robbery. During the botched robbery attempt, a Tampa, FL woman (Debbie Baigrie) suffered a nonfatal gunshot wound. When Ian later turned himself in, he was tried as an adult for armed robbery and attempted murder, receiving a sentence of life in prison without parole. Jonathan Daniels Civil Rights Youth Pilgrimage

High School Students are invited to join this Historical Pilgrimage. Visiting Atlanta, GA, Birmingham, Selma, Montgomery and Hayneville AL Blessed Jonathan Daniels, a young seminarian and a saint of the Episcopal Church, was martyred in Hayneville while working for the civil rights of the people of Alabama.
